Stepping back onto UK soil, fresh from the success of this January’s Travel & Tourism Student Conference at Disneyland® Paris, we’re buzzing with the insight gained from Disney and travel experts this year.
Kicking off proceedings, Jane Batty from Disneyland® Paris shared her 30 years’ experience in providing the magical and exceptional Disney customer service we experience in the resorts. We learned about the clear and unique strategy understood by all those in customer-facing roles within and around the Parks and Hotels.
Following Jane, we heard from Tom Nelson about the digital marketing and e-commerce strategies used and career opportunities at Walt Disney Travel Company. Tom talked about the importance of the customer’s online experience though thorough understanding of the target markets and how they interact with the brand online.
To round up this sold out conference, Lee Ainsworth from Advantage Travel Partnership and ITT Future You Ambassador and Board Member shared his career journey in the industry and a view of the vast array of roles and paths that can be taken in the Travel & Tourism sector.
All of this plus a Q&A with all speakers to help quench students’ thirst for more knowledge and experience of the world of Travel & Tourism.
Who joined this year’s conference?
Almost 600 students gained from the Travel & Tourism conference this year, completely filling the Gaumont Theatre in the Disney Village. These students came from colleges all over the UK, travelling by coach or air to Paris and staying at the Disney Hotel Cheyenne. Along with a 2 day, 2 Park pass, students also benefited from the Extra Magic Hour and some took advantage of their full time coach to take them on an excursion into Paris.
What did students learn?
Along with the unique opportunity to learn from top brands and industry experts, focused learning resources were also available to download prior to the event. These are designed to use within the resort to boost learning outcomes.
The event and resources are designed by educational and industry professionals to align with Travel & Tourism and Customer Service curricula at Level 2, 3 and beyond.
Don’t miss out in 2026
We run our Travel & Tourism conference alongside our popular Business Studies conference each January at Disneyland® Paris. This gives colleges the opportunity to team up departments, making travel costs more affordable.
